Say NO to Frizz

It’s summer here in Dubai, so you know what that means , complete and utter humidity!

and what comes with that humidity? big frizzy hair.

Review : mimi’s Diva Dryer

A while ago I bought the aquis mimi’s diva dryer microfiber hair towel and turban. They’re supposed to dry your hair faster ,& they’re supposed to be gentler on your hair. They finally arrived not too long ago so I can actually review them for you guys now . Here we go:

The towel:

I love the towel! It is so soft and omg it really does dry your hair faster but the downside is because I got it in white it is constantly lost between all the other small white towels of the house.

The turban:

It’s nice & convenient but I was told you shouldn’t twist your hair and especially not when it’s wet since you’ll damage it more

Hair: BaByliss icurl

Remember the YouTube Obsession post ? one of the videos shows you how to use your straightener as a curler. I tried that with my straightener but I don’t know if it was my impatience that day, my hair, or the heat protector that I used but it just took way too long to do all my hair. So when I saw the selection of hair tools at Carrefour today I had to get this BaByliss Icurl that’s both a straightener and curler thats used exactly for the last video in YouTube Obsession ‘s way of curling.

I wanted to get another tool that can be used for straightening and curling your hair the usual way but that one was out of stock. but this one’s just as good. and OMG how my whole head of hair was done in practically no time!

I know most of you don’t understand Swedish. I don’t either but you get the gist of the idea. I chose this video because the products used in it are available here and because the video is clear.

If you get used to using it and if you just do it smoothly you wont get those lines you see she gets in her hair. I did my mom’s hair today after I forced her and it turned out great.

All for the sake of better hair

If you’ve got frizz-prone hair then this is the product for you.  I can’t believe the difference in my hair ! other serums I’ve used in the past weren’t as helpful but those didn’t claim to be anti-frizz so maybe that’s why .

my hair feels so much softer. my ends not so much they still feel brittle but don’t look so damaged anymore.

because I didn’t know how to take care of my hair before and I just do whatever I wanted to it I now have really damaged hair. well its just the lower third part of my hair, which I’m planning to grow out so I can cut the damaged part instead of just cutting it and then taking care of it. It took time to grow my hair back so I refuse to just cut it to shoulder length again ( it’s a cycle I go though , cut it to shoulder length, grow it out – process takes about 2 years – then cut it again) so now I’m on a quest for perfect or better looking, healthier hair.

(haha quest , sounds like a plot for a Disney movie :p)

I bought this and other products on this quest.

said quest consists of :

  • getting my weekly treatments at the salon
  • getting heat protective spray
  • getting microfiber towels and turbans for drying my hair with
  • brushing my hair before washing
  • brushing wet hair only with a wide-toothed comb
  • taking care to actually condition my hair and not just buy shampoo and conditioner sets just because they look better together

hmmm what else? do you guys have any ideas ? I AM ALL EARS :D

this is the only heat protection spray I could find. if you know any other available in the region TELL ME ! ;p no seriously this one’s way too sticky when used with a straightener

wow I just noticed everything is pink! my wide-toothed comb is pink too :p

OMG my straightener is pink too !!! i don’t remember being so girly

YouTube Obsession

If you follow me on twitter you would know how totally obsessed I’ve become with hair. & how I think YouTube is beauty and fitness heaven. you can find everything there; tips on how to exercise your neck, how to relax, how to do you hair. EVERYTHING. when my friends (mainly Hunoof) used to talk about what they’ve seen on YouTube I’d say I don’t browse YouTube. and now I am addicted. last night I stayed up hours past my bedtime to watch these lovely tutorials from YaYaLifestyle

seriously, heat-free curls! ingenious!! and I didn’t know you could do that (reference  last video) with a flat-iron that fast.

I will try it as soon as I get my hands on a heat protective spray.

Enjoy ;)
